Sandra Barrera received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2017. A firm believer in "hands on" therapy, Sandra studied all the relevant courses toward a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) including: Advanced Evaluation & Manipulation of the: Cranio Facial, Cervical & Upper Thoracic Spine, Pelvis & Lumbar Spine and Functional Analysis & Management of Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip Complex.
Throughout her clinical rotations, Sandra’s training was highly focused on Applied Functional Science (AFS), which incorporates all planes in which the human body moves. She loves to incorporate these concepts with every treatment, while placing a large emphasis in improving functional capabilities.
Growing up Sandra was very competitive and involved in swimming, cross country, track and softball. In her free time, she loves to explore new places to eat (gluten & dairy free of course!), soak up the sun, and she never skips her morning cup o’ joe. She is a high believer in “practicing what you preach” and makes her health and fitness a priority.
Sandra is committed and eager to help all those in need of physical therapy and strives to make sure all her patients fully understand their injury and how they can be proactive in preventing further injury in the future.
